Abby Wambach was arrested and charged with allegedly driving under the influence on early Sunday morning in Portland, Oregon, according to Multnomah County Jail booking records.

Wambach was pulled over around 2 a.m. by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, the records state. She was release on her own recognizance from the Multnomah County Jail later Sunday.

PEOPLE could not immediately reach the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office or Wambach’s rep for comment.

Wambach, a longtime member of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team, retired in October as one of the most decorated and respected female players in the sport.

The athlete, who has scored more international goals than any other player of any gender in soccer history, helped lead the women’s team to victory in the Women’s World Cup last summer.
