Florida police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the death of his 10-year-old sister after the girl was found dead in a field, PEOPLE confirms.
Police arrested Fredrick Lochridge on Monday and charged him with murder in the death of Isabella Heffernan, who went missing from her home in Fountain over the weekend, Bay County Sheriff’s Office officials said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.
Heffernan was last seen at 10 p.m. on Saturday when she went to bed, police say. Her family reported her missing around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

An air and ground search was launched for Heffernan. She was found dead at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday “in a large field behind her home,” police say.
No additional information has been released.
