A couple’s 14-year-old grandson has been arrested in connection with their deaths.

Robert Cogdell and his wife, Patricia, both 66, were found shot to death behind their Conway, Arkansas, home on Wednesday afternoon after police were called to check on them when Cogdell’s co-workers became concerned that he hadn’t shown up at work.

The boy, who is not being identified because he is a minor, is being held in jail awaiting arraignment on two counts of capital murder, according to the Associated Press.

Police said it appeared as though Cogdell had been shot inside the home and Patricia in the family’s garage. Their bodies were then dragged out into the woods behind the home. It’s thought that the shootings occurred sometime on Tuesday.

A Conway police spokeswoman said that the boy became a suspect after authorities interviewed his friends and family. They have not yet determined a motive for the fatal shootings.

“We are still trying to figure out exactly what happened, and that is not something that we would speculate at this point,” spokeswoman LaTresha Woodruff said, the AP reports.

Prosecutor Cody Hiland said late Thursday that he believed there will be more arrests in connection with the slayings.

“I anticipate that there will be additional suspects arrested in this case,” he said.

The boy was living with his grandparents at the time of the shootings.
