Even after 30 years in the business, Trisha Yearwood still gets star-struck!

In this week’s issue of PEOPLE, the country music star revealed she was in awe after meeting Bradley Cooper.

Yearwood, 54, met the A Star Is Born actor while on the road with husband Garth Brooks, 57. From 2014 to 2017, the Nashville power couple were on their extensive World Tour, playing in almost 400 locations and selling more than six million tickets.

“We played in L.A., and Bradley Cooper stayed for the whole show. He was in research mode for A Star Is Born and came backstage,” Yearwood says. “Garth was like, ‘Wow, all the women on this tour suddenly want to be in the meet and greet!'”

Yearwood says the actor — who was preparing to play Jackson Maine in the Oscar-nominated film — made an impression.

“What was so cool about that was he made you feel immediately comfortable. He was so nice,” she adds. “You just were like: Wow, it’s so cool to meet somebody who’s doing so well. And you are a little star-struck.”

And Cooper wasn’t the only A Star Is Born cast member to appear at one of the country power couple’s Los Angeles shows.

Lady Gaga came, and that was very cool,” Yearwood adds.

Brooks and Yearwood are both fans of the Oscar-winning film and praise its portrayal of the music industry. Brooks spoke to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert about his appreciation of the film, even commending the placement of people backstage.

Yearwood has kept busy outside of Nashville in recent years, winning an Emmy award for her Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, releasing several cookbooks (including Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood) and, most recently, dropping her thirteenth studio album, Let’s Be Frank.

Her most recent album pays homage to the legendary Frank Sinatra, who Yearwood has listened to her mother introduced her to his music at a young age. Despite her decade-long hiatus from original music, Yearwood has indicated that there may be an upcoming album in the works.
