Meghan Linsey‘s version of Little Big Town’s current hit "Girl Crush" brought down the house on The Voice Monday night – and earned her praise from all the coaches. But it was country icon Reba McEntire, who guested as a mentor on the episode, who said it best: “She kicked the dog poo out of that!”

It was a comment much appreciated by Linsey, who had a lot of pressure on her going into the performance, with coach Blake Shelton telling her during rehearsals, “You’re doing my favorite song on country radio right now.”

But the singer nailed her soulful rendition of the emotional country tune. “You always hope for that breakout moment,” said Shelton after her performance. “I think you just had a breakout moment.”

Linsey, a Louisiana native, is no stranger to reality-show competitions: Formerly part of the duo Steel Magnolia, she got her start on season 2 of CMT’s Can You Duet?, which landed the singer and then-partner Joshua Scott Jones a record deal and led to a Top Five hit in 2009 with “Keep On Loving You.”

Shortly after their debut album dropped in early 2011, Jones entered rehab for drug and alcohol addiction, the couple broke up and Steel Magnolia disbanded. Currently, both singers are pursuing solo careers.
