Police in Raleigh, North Carolina, said Wednesday that they have made one arrest in the home-invasion robbery of country star Scotty McCreery.

The suspect, Mikkail Jamal Shaw, 19, of Raleigh, turned himself in Tuesday night and was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

“Additional suspects are known to have been involved, and the investigation is continuing,” Raleigh police said in a statement Wednesday.

McCreery, 20, who won the 10th season of American Idol and is a student at Raleigh’s North Carolina State University, called Monday’s robbery the “worst morning of my life” in a Tweet.

McCreery was at home with his roommates around 2 a.m. on Monday when armed gunmen entered his off-campus apartment and demanded wallets, money and electronics.

Police later released a 911 call from someone at the residence, who described the frightening break-in.

McCreery told his fans he was safe and thanked them for their support in a message he posted on Facebook, calling it a “very scary night.”

“Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case,” he wrote, thanking police for their “quick response and hard work.”
