Entertainment Music Country Rory Feek Shares Image of Joey's Grave on the Family Farm: 'Bright Sunrise Will Contradict the Heavy Fog That Weighs You Down' In the weeks since his wife's death, Rory has opened up about how his family has worked to adjust to her absence By Adam Carlson Published on April 2, 2016 09:35 AM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Courtesy Joey Feek Joey Feek‘s death from cancer was a dark day for her family – but according to a recent Facebook post from husband Rory Feek, she is at rest now where it is sunny and bright. Rory shared a photo of Joey’s grave, weeks after her death, on their Facebook page Saturday morning.– In the image, the sun has just risen, casting a bright glow and long shadows across the deep green grass and a pair of horses near where her grave sits, at the family farm in Tennessee, topped by a simple wooden cross. “…a bright sunrise will contradict the heavy fog that weighs you down,” Rory captioned the image. In the weeks since his wife’s death, Rory said his family has been working on adjusting to the newness of her absence – “to the empty chair at our table and pillow on the other side of my bed, desperately missing Joey and carrying her in our hearts with us everywhere we go.” But, as he wrote soon after Joey was laid to rest, “She’ll always be with us. In our hearts. Forever.” Family friend Bill Gaither told PEOPLE earlier this month, of the funeral, “It was tearful, but it was optimistic, especially being on the dirt. [Joey] was part of the earth. We all felt as though we were close to her.”
