Miranda Lambert has found solace in her music over the past 12 months.
“The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing, Of learning to be honest,” she wrote alongside a screenshot of a music chart showing her single “Vice” at number one. “Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places having some moments alone with me.”
Similar to her Instagram caption, the 32-year-old’s latest song faces her demons, as she sings about “heartbreak” and her personal feelings of being “numb” and “lonely.”
“Facing fears and feelings All of them. I got to know my guitars became friends with a pencil and paper Used melodies to lead me places I had never been .” she added in the post. “Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine. This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey.”

Lambert and Shelton divorced in July after four years of marriage. Shortly after, she opened up about the news in her cover story for Cosmopolitan.
“I’m still processing everything and figuring out were to go and what happened,” she said. “I just want to live life full of everything. Some of that might man nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going ‘Man this sucks right now.’ It’s about living in the moment and feeling every tinge of pain, then waking up the next day and going , ‘All right, I’m going to ride my ponies. I’m going to have a girls’ night.'”
Nearly a year after her divorce, Lambert found new romance in fellow singer Anderson Easton.
In March, a source told PEOPLE Lambert “is extremely happy and content with how her life is proceeding. She’s having a great time living and working within a creative community.”
