Oh, what a night! At least that’s what a few hundred lucky Miranda Lambert fans are saying today.

The singer announced a free show at Nashville’s Exit/In on Instagram on Tuesday, just hours before it began. Not surprisingly, the line started forming almost immediately.

The performance was a chance for fans to see Lambert in the intimate club setting she played early in her career, but it was also a chance for the singer and her band to practice their set list for her Certified Platinum tour, which kicks off Thursday in Evansville, Indiana.

“I’m glad to be here with no video, no fuss, no frills. Just us and the music,” Lambert told the crowd at the show, which featured hits like “White Liar,” “Mama’s Broken Heart,” “Automatic” and her new single, “Little Red Wagon.” Lambert also threw in a few covers, bringing in The Voice‘s RaeLynn and Gwen Sebastian for The Dixie Chicks’ “Cowboy Take Me Away,” and a duet with Sebastian of Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.”
