Clearly reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan is a very well-rounded performer.

The country star was a surprise guest on the Bobby Bones radio show on Jan. 6 and during his visit – after inhaling a couple of balloons filled with helium – he delivered a version of his hit song “That’s My Kind of Night” that you probably haven’t heard before. (See the video below to find out just what we mean.)

“Didn’t somebody die from this or something?” the singer jokingly asked before getting started. We hope not, but kids, you definitely shouldn’t try this at home!

While on the show, Bryan said he’s been enjoying his time off with family and in fact, just returned from a ski trip at the Steamboat resort in Colorado. But Bryan, 38, admitted that his newfound fame has him skiing a bit slower these days thanks to the tour dates and awards shows ahead.

“I used to ski like crazy, [even] if I rolled down the hill,” he said. “But the past two years I’m like, ‘Alright, do not get hurt!'”

However, he wasn’t able to avoid injury all together. “We got [sons] Bo and Tate skiing and the biggest fall that I made, me and Caroline collided trying to watch [the kids],” he said. “She got two bruises on her thighs, but we survived!”
