He was inside AT&T Stadium. Cowboys QB Tony Romo was on the ACMs stage. And Luke Bryan wanted to go long.

As Romo was about to introduce the next performer, ACMs cohost Blake Shelton needed a word.

“Hey, Tony, I’m sorry, I know this is weird will you just do me a solid?” Shelton asked the NFL star as his giddy friend and cohost anxiously looked on. “Can you throw a pass to my buddy Luke here?”

“I brought my sticky gloves,” added a grinning Bryan, showing them off.

Romo aired one out to Bryan, who made a triumphant catch. But Shelton wasn’t joining the celebration dance.

“This isn’t one of them deflated balls, is it?” asked Shelton.

“Blake, we’re the Dallas Cowboys,” replied the QB. “We have real balls.”
