Little Big Town, Love and Theft, Lauren Alaina, Vince Gill and More Will Fight Cancer with Softball
Little Big Town and more A-list artists are teaming up on June 13 to raise money for cancer research
On June 13, many of country music’s biggest stars will participate in the 25th Annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game sponsored by PEOPLE Country as part of the CMA Music Festival in Nashville.
The Grand Ole Opry team will include Chuck Wicks, Love and Theft’s Eric Gunderson, JT Hodges, Phil Vassar, Vince Gill and Little Big Town‘s Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook. Team iHeart Radio’s players will include the other halves of both Little Big Town – Phillip Sweet and Karen Fairchild – and Love and Theft, Stephen Barker Liles, as well as Bret Michaels and Lauren Alaina, among others.
The game will raise funds for City of Hope’s research institute for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses. Last year’s game raised over $200,000 and ended in a win for the Opry team.

Wicks, who played on the Opry’s team last year as well, will surely be looking to defend his winning streak, but his 2014 teammate Alaina has apparently decided, in the name of charity, to spread the wealth and give Team iHeart some help.
