Entertainment Music Country 'American Idol' Alum Kellie Pickler Is Hoping for a Reunion Before the Show Ends The country star also opened up about her upcoming reality show By Jessica Fecteau Published on May 17, 2015 08:00 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Theo Wargo/Getty American Idol announced its final season last Monday, and former contestant Kellie Pickler has a very understanding view toward the show’s end. “Everything that starts comes to an end at some point,” she tells PEOPLE. “It changed my life and so many others, and I was so blessed to be a part of the show,” Pickler, 28, explains at a Lung Force event on Tuesday. “Hopefully they will have a little Idol reunion for the finale next year and we can all reunite.” Since the star’s run on the show in 2006, Pickler has gone on to release multiple country albums and has won several awards, including three CMT Music Awards. So, what’s next? A reality-TV show. Pickler and her husband Kyle Jacobs are teaming up with Ryan Seacrest Productions and CMT for a new series. The title of the show is still in the works. “We want it to be happy, we want to make people laugh, smile, bring people joy,” she says. “Leave the drama for your momma because we ain’t got none of that.” While she got her start on a reality show and went on in 2013 to nab the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars, the star says her life is not an open book. “There’s more about me that you don’t know than you do and it will stay that way,” Pickler says. “You’ll learn a little bit more but there’s moments and things in your life that you keep sacred and you cherish and it’s none of anybody else’s business.” Pickler’s new show will debut on CMT later this year.
