How well do you know singer Josh Thompson? Well, you’re about to get to know him a little better. Thompson, who recently released his new single “Wanted Me Gone,” played the get-to-know-you game Two Truths and a Lie with PEOPLE Country, and even we learned something new. Two of the below statements are true, one isn’t. Can you guess the lie?
a.) He’s a pumpkin farmer.
b.) He has his pilot’s license.
c.) He likes to start fires.
a.) He’s a pumpkin farmer – True! “I’m currently growing pumpkins,” says Thompson. “I’ll tell you why I never removed the pumpkins I had out last year and they just kind of rotted and nature just grew some pumpkins for me, so now I am their caretaker. I did absolutely nothing but leave some pumpkins out and now it’s going to gift me with like probably 30 pumpkins. I’m going to have pumpkin pie, pumpkin seeds, a super pumpkin, a pumpkin bird house maybe – anything you can imagine.”
b.) He has his pilot’s license – False! “I am still deathly afraid to fly even though I fly like 8,000 times a year,” he says. “I have been told it’s because I’m a control freak, and you have zero control when you’re up there. It’s not even like I would want control because I have absolutely no idea how to get that thing off the ground, keep it up or land it.”
c.) He likes to start fires – True! “I love campfires. Outside the tour bus, we’ll just build fires,” says Thompson. “If it’s at a county fair or somewhere in the country we can usually talk someone into getting us some palettes and we’ll start a fire. But we’ve even had them in hotel parking lots. We just love to pull up chairs and have a couple beers and hang out. The ambiance of a fire and the smoke, it just feels good – makes me think I’m camping no matter where I am.”
