Joey Feek was moved to tears on Monday morning.

The 40-year-old singer, who recently entered hospice with terminal cancer, found out that she and husband Rory Feek – also known as country couple Joey + Rory – received a Grammy Award nomination for best country duo/group performance.

“[I] woke my bride up this morning with a baby in my arms and the news that our version of “If I Needed You” was nominated for a Grammy,” Rory, 50, wrote in an upbeat Facebook post on Monday. “As her excitement and tears flowed into mine, she said, ‘How can that be?'”

Rory explained why their first Grammy nod surprised the musical pair, saying their song “received no radio airplay … no press … no critical acclaim.”

He also shared a clip of the tune’s music video, which documents the birth of daughter Indiana, 21 months, who has Down syndrome.

It’s already been a heartwarming holiday season for Joey, 40, who enjoyed a "very special Christmas" celebration with family in her hometown of Alexandria, Indiana, last week.

“God is so good,” Rory wrote of the Grammy development. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
