Joey Feek’s smile is brighter than ever as she copes with terminal cancer.

In a new family photo, the 40-year-old country singer lights up from ear to ear while bonding with her daughter, Indiana, 22 months.

Joey’s husband Rory Feek, 50, shared the sweet image via Facebook on Friday. The loving husband wrote, “It’s 60 and sunny outside today and even brighter inside.. Joey’s out of bed teaching signs to Indy on the floor.”

At this point in Joey’s struggle with cervical cancer, being out of her room is a big deal. In a blog post on Nov. 29, Rory wrote that Joey could “no longer get out of bed.”

Despite being in hospice care, Joey was determined to give her disease a tough fight.

“There isn’t a day that goes by that [Joey] doesn’t look me and her family in the eye and say, ‘I’m gonna beat this,’ or, ‘I’m getting better, I believe that,'” wrote Rory in his emotional entry. “And she asks me if I believe it, and I do. I choose to.”

One week later, Joey’s spirits were lifted when her large family celebrated Christmas early in her hometown of Alexandria, Indiana.

“Joey’s still feeling pretty good. Really good actually,” Rory wrote on Dec. 4. “We’ve been able to keep her pain under control for the most part and her spirit is just as positive as ever. Even more so here lately.”

And the gifts kept on coming. On Monday, Joey + Rory received a Grammy nomination for best country duo/group performance.

“God is so good,” Rory wrote on Facebook. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
