brightcove.createExperiences(); Joey Feek long knew she didn’t have long for this world, and in the months leading up to her death Friday, after a years-long fight with cancer, she was surrounded by friends and family.

Some of those moments together were captured by Feek’s family and shared for their fans and supporters on social media.

And some of those moments also doubled as goodbyes.

The most recent came Thursday night, hours before Feek’s passing Friday afternoon, when Feek’s eldest stepdaughter, Heidi, came to her bedside.

Last month, Feek was visited by “sweet friends” Mike and Sally Rosser, according to Feek’s husband, Rory. “Mike is the pastor who married us almost 14 years ago,” Rory wrote.

Gospel singer Bill Gaither visited in February as well to give Joey a private performance.

Rory’s sister stopped by in January.

And in November, Joey was surrounded by her girls.

Last fall, Joey said she was prepared for death, telling The Tennessean: “I pray that one morning I just don’t wake up. But I don’t fear anything because I’m so close to God and we’ve talked about it so many times. I know he’s close. And I know he loves me. I’m really at peace.”
