Jana Kramer Is Engaged to Michael Caussin

Her future husband proposed like a true gentleman

Jana Kramer just had the best birthday ever.

On Tuesday, her football player boyfriend, Michael Caussin, got down on one knee in front of a small group of family and friends in Nashville to make her 31st birthday the most memorable yet!

“It was a beautiful surprise,” the country singer and former One Tree Hill star said in a statement. “He was the perfect gentleman. Nervous, on one knee, and surrounded by some of the people that love us the most.”

To say that their romance has been a whirlwind is an understatement – Kramer and Caussin, 27, only began dating in August.

Prior to her romance with Caussin, Kramer broke off an engagement with fellow country music singer Brantley Gilbert in August 2013. She was briefly wed to actor Johnathon Schaech; after marrying in July 2010, the pair split not long after – their divorce was finalized in June 2011. She was also previously married to Michael Gambino in 2004.

Kramer’s self-titled debut earned her the title of the Academy of Country Music’s 2013 new female vocalist of the year. Her as-yet-untitled sophomore album has no release date yet, but the first single, “Love,” was fairly well-received on the country charts upon its release in the spring.

Caussin is currently a free agent: He was last a tight end for the Washington Redskins after being placed on the injured reserve in August.
