The country music superstars are the awards show's most recent artist of the decade winners

Here’s some news that’s sure to be music to country fans’ ears – and black hat lovers everywhere!

Garth Brooks, 51, and George Strait, 60, are set to perform together for the very first time. Their collaboration will take place at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which airs live on CBS, April 7 in Las Vegas – and will honor Dick Clark, who began producing the program in 1979 until his death a week after last year’s show.

The talented musical pair are the two most recent winners of the show’s artist of the decade honor, with Strait being acknowledged for his work in the ’00s and Brooks in the ’90s.

Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will be hosting this year’s program. Tune in for the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, April 7 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
