The widow of Craig Strickland, the country singer who died earlier this year during an ill-fated duck hunting trip, is remembering her late husband on what would have been their two-year wedding anniversary.

“Happy Anniversary Craig Michael. I will miss you every step of the way in this life,” Helen Strickland wrote alongside and Instagram video on Tuesday. “But I am thankful that I can always look back on the precious memory of our marriage with love in my heart.”

The video included a series of photos from the couple’s wedding day. Shots featured Helen putting the final touches on her dress along with photos of the couple standing together, holding hands, embracing each other and walking down the aisle.

Strickland, 29, was found dead on Jan. 4, about a week after he and his friend Chase Moreland set off on the trip in Kay County, Oklahoma, in late December. Moreland was found dead one week earlier on Dec. 28. An autopsy report later revealed that Strickland died of hypothermia.

The men were reported missing on Dec. 27. and Helen posted a series of emotional social media posts, hopeful that her husband would return.

The pair had been married for about a year before Strickland’s death – they wed on Nov. 29, 2014 and 27-year-old Helen wrote that she finds comfort knowing that her husband is in a better place.

“I can be thankful because you are with our Father … meaning I can find peace knowing that since we are both Hi, you both are mine,” she wrote.

This is not the first time Helen has remembered the late singer.

Just months after Strickland’s death, Helen uploaded an Instagram photo of herself and Strickland sporting wide smiles.

“Can’t believe it’s already been 2 months since you past, Love,” she wrote. “Thank you for blessing my life and so many others.”
