Country singer Craig Strickland is missing just days after a friend posted an ominous tweet that foreshadowed their disappearance.

“In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm,” Chase Morland, who was on the road with Strickland, tweeted late Saturday.

According to local news outlet KFOR, Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the pair had not been seen since they headed out for their hunting trip just north of Tulsa.

The men were reported missing on Sunday, when family and friends hadn’t heard from them since they left, KFOR reports.

On Monday, Backroad Anthem, the band that Strickland sings in, revealed that Morland had been found dead.

“Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Chase Morland,” they wrote on Facebook. “They were very close friends and it is such a heartbreaking loss. Randy Strickland (Craig’s father) has informed us Craig has not been found. Please keep praying for his safety.”

According to KFOR, search parties have been issued but no sign of the singer has been reported.

Strickland’s family issued another statement through the band’s Facebook page saying that Monday night’s search and been called off and the family was still hoping for the best.

“We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive. Hoping against the odds,” the post read. “We can’t even stand to think about it. We are devastated. Only God and time can put us back together.”

Searches will resume on Tuesday, KFOR reported.
