They’re an unexpected pair, but Luke Bryan and Jason Derulo looked right at home together on the CMT Awards stage Wednesday night.

The singers — who won the CMT Performance of the Year award for their “Want to Want Me” Crossroads set — accepted the award together.

“Thank you so much, it’s been an amazing ride,” Derulo said during their acceptance speech. “The support here has been incredible. Thank you to the country music fans!”

Bryan also thanked their fans, saying, “Thank you guys for making it happen for us!”

For their performance, Bryan and Derulo “stripped it down” to perform Bryan’s 2015 hit “Strip It Down” as the country star played the keys and the pop star commanded the mic. Then, the pair hyped up the crowd with a duet of Derulo’s 2015 hit “Want to Want Me.”

During rehearsals on Monday, Derulo, 27, told CMT.com one of his favorite things about Nashville is the food. “[It’s] incredible, and if I lived here, I would literally be 300 pounds,” he said. “I’m having brisket, barbecue, fried fish.”

The star also revealed he was heading over to Bryan’s house where “he’s going to fry up some grouper!”

And while Derulo is as well-known for his dance moves as he is for his singing, the entertainer gave props to Bryan, 40, for his moves. “His dance moves are very him,” he joked. “Nobody does Luke’s dance moves like Luke.”

Joked Bryan: “[Jason] holds back around me because he knows at any moment he could just thrash me. He kind of lets me do my uncoordinated moves, and then he just gives a little tease, and all the girls scream.”

The 2017 CMT Music Awards are airing live from Nashville on CMT Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST.
