Brett Eldredge is all about making connections – and the hotter, the better, if you know what he means.

In fact, that’s exactly what his new song “Fire” is all about.

“Sometimes you get that connection with someone that is so on fire that it’s fun to watch everyone around you stop and stare,” says Eldredge, 29, who is single and has previously told PEOPLE, “I’m keeping my eyes open” when it comes to finding the right girl. ” ‘Fire’ captures that moment and I hope it makes you sweat!”

The song gives fans a sneak peek into his upcoming sophomore album, Illinois, out Sept. 11. His first album, Bring You Back, produced the No. 1 hits “Don’t Ya,” “Beat of the Music” and “Mean to Me.”

“This is just another peek into what will show my soulful upbeat side on my sophomore album,” says Eldredge. “We are definitely bringing the heat and can’t wait for everyone to hear.”
