Blake Shelton Releases a New Single – What Do You Think?
"Neon Light" is all about (kinda) getting over a break-up – and the star took to Twitter to promote his cause
“Hey @adamlevine … Brag about my new single #neonlight,” the country crooner Tweeted, announcing his first solo single of 2014.
“Neon Light,” which streamed on iHeartRadio on Monday, is a laid-back late-summer anthem that deals with the small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel following a rough breakup: “There’s a neon light at the end of the tunnel/It ain’t all that bright, but even though it’s subtle/It’s got me feeling alright, go on and make it a double/There’s a neon light at the end of the tunnel.”
Shelton Tweeted to lots of luminaries – Today pal Hoda Kotb, The Voice host Carson Daly, Oprah Winfrey and, uh, President Barack Obama – to spread the word about his new song. But one VIP definitely took notice – Shelton’s wife, Miranda Lambert.
“Neon Light” is the first tune off of Shelton’s upcoming album, Bringing Back the Sunshine, due out Sept. 30.
