Blake Shelton Steps Out Minus Wedding Ring in First Public Sighting Since Divorce from Miranda Lambert

Blake Shelton is moving on as best he can following his split from wife Miranda Lambert.

The country star, 39, has continued to work and joke around on Twitter in the days following Monday’s divorce announcement.

He was photographed for the first time in public on Wednesday leaving tapings for the new season of The Voice – and his wedding ring was nowhere in sight.

The “God Gave Me You” singer Tweeted to his more than 12 million followers on Wednesday that he was “Back to work filming @NBCTHEVOICE today,” before adding that he wondered whether he would be the only one who “rolls in a full ice chest ”

The Tweet is the latest in a series of lighthearted posts from the singer. On Thursday, Shelton Tweeted a selfie with his agent Laurie Pozmantier, both sporting smiles.

Shelton and Lambert, 31, announced their split earlier this week, saying they are now going to “move forward separately.”

In the wake of the announcement, a Shelton source told PEOPLE, “He’s devastated, but he’s been really private about it.”

“He’s focused on the job and has been as engaged and friendly as he has always been.”

Indeed, he and Lambert prefer to turn the spotlight on their pal Ashley Monroe, whose new record, The Blade, was just released. After Lambert joined her friend onstage Wednesday evening for “A Heart like Mine,” Shelton chimed in Friday, Tweeting, “Now THIS is what everybody needs to be talking about!!!!!!!!! Go Ashley!!!”
