Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Split: What's Next for the Former Couple
The exes have already divvied up their property, PEOPLE confirms
Though Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are now going their separate ways, they are moving forward amicably and dividing assets accordingly. (The two had a prenup in place, and their divorce was finalized quickly.)
Prior to tying the knot in 2011, Shelton, 39, and Lambert, 31, both owned ranches in Oklahoma, which they each will keep. The couple’s Nashville home and various pets and animals – including their dogs and horses – will go to Lambert, PEOPLE confirms.
“The businesses will continue,” a source tells PEOPLE. “They don’t want to see any of the local business get hurt.”
According to Jackie Baker, who owns Bakers Mercantile in Tishomingo, the couple are “just very normal people, very down-to-earth, very caring.”
The tight-knit community is “in a state of shock,” adds Ray Lokey, publisher and managing editor of the Johnston County Capital-Democrat. “We love them both to pieces. We’re so grateful to both of them, especially Miranda. She’s turned our local economy around.”
In the wake of their split, both country stars are focusing on work. Shelton is wrapping up work on the set of The Voice this week, and Lambert is set to perform in Nashville next week.
“He’s devastated, but he’s been really private about it,” says a Shelton source. “He’s focused on the job and has been as engaged and friendly as he has always been.”
Adds a Lambert pal: “She’s sad and trying to process everything. She’s doing the best she can and taking it day by day.”
