"Blake's out, this guy's in!" the first-time host says to himself in the mirror

So maybe Blake Shelton isn’t the funniest country star in town after all?

Dierks Bentley is gearing up to replace Shelton as Luke Bryan‘s co-host at the ACM Awards on April 3, and for anyone doubting Bentley’s ability to fill Shelton’s large and hilarious shoes – you can now relax.

Bentley posted the video evidence of his comedic skills on his Facebook page Monday. In the clip, the first-time host, 40, sings in the shower – Whitesnake, Drake and even a little Phil Collins sample – gives himself a few pep talks in the mirror, and practices his (is that karate?) moves in a hotel bathrobe.

“You ready for this? You, hosting. And Luke. But mostly you,” says Bentley to himself. “Blake’s out, this guy’s in!

“You’re going to shine, superstar,” he says. “You need to carry the show!”

When it’s over, even Bentley can’t stop laughing.

“It’s going to be a fun night, I think,” he says at the video’s close.

We think that’s an understatement!

The ACM Awards air live from Las Vegas on April 3, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
