Chica WATCH: Yandel and Maluma Team Up for Hot New Music Video 'Solo Mía' Check out the hot new music video for Yandel's "Solo Mía," featuring Maluma! By Lena Hansen Published on February 12, 2018 11:14 AM Share Tweet Pin Email The music video for Yandel’s new single “Solo Mia,” featuring Maluma, is out Feb. 9, and it doesn’t disappoint. The video has a futuristic vibe with Yandel standing in an all white Matrix-like tunnel and Maluma dancing in a similar, but all-black tunnel dotted by lights, forming a succession of circles. A stunning model moves between each of their underground worlds. “I’m here with Maluma, one of the most powerful exponents of this genre. I think this will be a historic collaboration and video,” Yandel, 41, said in a promotional behind the scenes video shared with PEOPLE CHICA. Maluma, 24, added: “I have listened to Yandel’s music since I was 14 years old and all my life I always wanted to be like this guy.” Both artists teased the music video on social media, eliciting excited comments from fans on Instagram: “Loved it,” one responded. “Great duo,” another wrote. Maluma, who scored 10 Billboard Latin Music Award nominations, has mastered the art of musical collaboration. Last year, he teamed up with Shakira on “Trap”,” followed by a collab with Brazilian singer Nego Do Borel on “Corazón.” The Colombian heartthrob admits Yandel has been a formative inspiration and calls working together a dream come true. “I have to thank him for teaching me many of the things I know,” Maluma said of the Puerto Rican reggaetonero in a behind-the-scenes interview. The track, written by Yandel, is included in his fourth solo studio album #Update, which came out in September of last year. The music video was filmed in Mexico City under the direction of Mike Ho, who’s directed J. Balvin, Usher, Tyga, among others. The album has been certified Platinum by RIAA and is a finalist in the category of “Latin Rhythm Album of the Year” at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards. The disc also includes collaborations with Luis Fonsi, J. Balvin, Ozuna, Becky G and Bad Bunny, among others. Yandel made headlines earlier last week with the announcement of his highly anticipated reunion with Wisin, his former musical “other half” from his Wisin & Yandel days.
