Sofia Vergara is all about empowering women, as evidenced by the collection of underwear she released in September called EBY, which stands for “Empowered By You.” Now, right in time for International Women’s Day, the Modern Family star is launching the “Empowered by Business” campaign in collaboration with her line of skivvies and the help of ten “powerhouse women.”
The initiative will shed light on how motivating women in the world of business can improve — even revolutionize — their lives. Via social media posts, all the women involved in the enterprise will share personal stories about the the significance of business in their lives. As reported by E! News, the ten girl bosses include: Olivia Wilde, Arianna Huffington, Gabrielle Union, Laura Brown, Hannah Bronfman, Nina Garcia, Carly Zakin, Danielle Weisberg, Susan Rockefeller, and Lauren Bush.
Rockefeller and Huffington have already shared their inspirational stories on social media wearing an “Empowered by Business” t-shirt. “What I have found is that many of the business leaders driving environmental innovation and social impact forward are women,” Rockefeller, a documentary filmmaker and founder and editor-in-chief of Musings Mag, wrote. Huffington, who co-founded The Huffington Post and is CEO of Thrive Global, added: “Building a purpose-led business has helped me thrive in all parts of my life.”
“I co-founded EBY because I believe the most powerful way to empower women is through business,” Vergara said in a statement to E! News. “I am excited to shine the light on the top ten women who are a testament of what is possible through hard work and dedication. I hope this campaign inspires women to embrace the power within themselves.”
