There’s no hyperbolizing Romeo Santos success, who released his third solo multi-platinum album Golden last July and sold out three shows, which included on-stage appearances by Cardi B and Daddy Yankee, at Madison Square Garden this past weekend. The Latin superstar and Jay-Z appointed CEO of Roc Nation Latin opened up to People en Español before taking the stage at MSG on Feb. 16 to talk about the one goal he hasn’t yet achieved and his future in music.

The internationally acclaimed artist amassed a huge fanbase following the success of his former band Aventura, whose megahit “Obsesión,” was No. 1 in several European countries, such as France, Germany, Italy, and Austria. But there’s one country where Santos has never toured: “For some reason, we haven’t ever programmed a tour in Brazil,” he tells to People en Español. “But I know I have a lot of fans in Brazil. When Aventura was performing, fans would write ‘You guys gotta come do a show out here.’ As a solo artist, they ask me to perform there as well , so that’s a market that I would definitely like to conquer.”

Aside from hoping to headline tour in Brazil, the hitmaker, who’s sat at the top of the Billboard charts more than any other Latin music artist in a decade, would like to do more work behind the scenes: “I would definitely love to do more producing, where I’m more laid back,” he said. “Producing other artists and let them shine. I enjoy to just develop new artists and be able to see them singing my records, it’s an amazing feeling.”

Santos continues his 18-city Golden tour, which began in New York City on Feb. 15 and ends April 16 in Oakland, California.
