Ricky Martin Reveals Wedding Plans with Boyfriend Jwan Yosef
It’s been seven months since Ricky Martin announced his plans to marry Syrian-Swedish artist Jwan Yosef and now, the wedding preparations are in full swing. Despite the rumors that the special day was put on hold because of the singer’s Las Vegas residency, the Puerto-Rican star is revealing details including where he wants it to take place.
The location is no surprise: he revealed that it will take place in his native Puerto Rico – and although the couple is in no hurry to walk to the altar, the 45-year-old singer says the celebration will be “big.”
“It’s going to be a big event. I want something massive,” he told E! News while promoting his “All In” residency. “I for sure want to get married in Puerto Rico. That is something that has to happen.”
Of course, the reception will be an international festivity. Not only will Martin’s many friends, who come from different countries, be present, but Yosef also has ties to Europe and the Middle East. “He’s from Sweden, and some of his relatives are from Syria, so we’re going to do something international. We’ll see what happens,” said the singer.
The challenge, from the beginning, has been, and continues to be, finding time to plan the “massive” bash. Martin has his hands full being a dedicated father to two adorable 8-year-old twins, Matteo and Valentino. And aside from taking on a role on FX’s Versace: American Crime Story and plans of a VH1 docuseries, the singer is also performing his biggest hits at his “All In” residency in Las Vegas, taking place at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino with select dates in June, July and September.

“Everybody is talking about the wedding but nobody is talking about the planning of the wedding because it’s so difficult,” he said. “I didn’t know it was so complicated to put together an event like the one we want.”
Ricky Martin announced his engagement to Yosef on Ellen DeGeneres’ show in November 2016.
