Latinas are gaining visibility and power in all areas of modern life—from politics to media to business and, of course, to fashion. From gracing the covers of international magazines to walking the runways of the industry’s biggest designers and even fronting global campaigns, Joan Smalls, Lineisy Montero, Dilone, and Mica Argañaraz are killing it on runways at NYFW.

The Veteran: Joan Smalls

The Puerto Rican catwalker has been strutting her stuff since 2007. She’s landed 73 magazine covers, including 88 campaigns, and has walked almost 300 runways. In 2011, she landed a coveted spot as an Estée Lauder spokesperson. And the inexhaustible 29-years-old isn’t slowing down anytime soon: During NYFW, she walked for Fenty Puma, Alexander Wang, Jeremy Scott, Brandon Maxwell, and Tom Ford.

The Cool Girl: Mica Argañaraz

Argañaraz—ranked among the top 50 models in the world according to Models.com—launched her career at Christopher Kane’s SS13 show back in 2012. Her signature shaggy fringe and prominent jaw line have catapulted her from her Argentinian hometown to runways across the globe–and onto international magazine covers. The Prada muse and recent Vogue Japan cover girl is killing it at NYFW for Fenty Puma, Calvin Klein, and Tom Ford.

The Girl-Next-Door: Lineisy Montero

Her almond-shaped eyes, delicate features and natural afro have helped launch the Dominican beauty from Santo Domingo to stardom. Named one of this year’s 50 Most Beautiful by People en Español, she’s fronted Raf Simon’s first Calvin Klein By Appointment campaign and took part in W’s I Am an Immigrant video, alongside 80 other fashion celebrities. At NYFW, she walked for Jason Wu, Calvin Klein, and Tom Ford.

The Breakout Star: Dilone

Public School, Jeremy Scott, Brandon Maxwell, Monse, and Brock Collection showcased their new lines  with this femme tomboy. Known for her short curly hair and beautiful big smile, Dilone was runner-up for “The Best Female Model” in 2016 according to Models.com. Next, catch her in 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show flaunting those angel wings for a second time.
