The fireworks at the Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular on Tuesday wasn’t the only thing lighting up the stage, Jennifer Lopez joined the festivities to premiere her highly anticipated Spanish-language song “Ni Tu Ni Yo,” which features reggaeton group Gente de Zona.
“The song is really about when love takes you by surprise — ‘Ni Tú Ni Yo,’ ‘Not You, Not Me’ really expected this to happen, you know? That’s what it’s about, it’s one of those things that when love comes, it just comes, it doesn’t announce itself, and then it just takes over — ha! — you know what I mean? That’s what the song is about, which is why I love it so much,” the World of Dance judge told Extra about the song. Could it be about her sizzling romance with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez?
Although the performance did recieve positive feedback on social media, J.Lo also faced negative responses because of her revealing outfits, for performing a Spanish song in celebration of an American holiday and also for posting an edited photo wearing the American flag.
“I feel like this representation of the flag is disrespectful,” commented one user on her Instagram post.
With the track available on streaming services, the music video for the upbeat summer single will be released on Telemundo on July 10, according to Billboard.
