Jennifer Lopez Makes Cardi B's Dreams Come True at Calibash Concert
Jennifer Lopez brought the house down with a fiery performance at the 11th annual mega concert Calibash, which took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 20. Among the fans cheering her on in the audience was chart-topping artist Cardi B, who watched the superstar cover her smash hit “Bodak Yellow” during a medley.
Cardi B, who was left in complete shock during the performance, gave her followers a look at the moment on Instagram. “This is a Bronx girl dream,” the fellow Bronx-bred artist captioned the clip with a crying smiley face. “I just can’t believe I.T… The mother @jlo.”
Following her money moves moment, J.Lo gave the audience a sneak peek of a Spanglish song titled “Yo Quiero Dinero” (“I Want Money”) she’ll soon release. The preview of the forthcoming single shook fans with the possibility that a collaboration between the two Latina artists was in the works. Back in December, rumors swirled of a collab between the two songstresses when Lopez’s boyfriend Alex Rodriguez gave a look into a studio session on his Instagram live. During the live feed, J.Lo asks music producer DJ Khaled: “Cardi’s just on that one part. Do you think we should do some ad-libs with her?”
Lopez, a Cardi B fan, celebrated the release of the rapper and Bruno Mars’ 90s-inspired video for their remix of “Finesse” by sharing a #TBT clip of her time as a Fly Girls dancer on In Living Color. The music video is a dedication to the ’90s sketch comedy series, created by Keenen Ivory Wayans, which helped pave the way for minority performers in Hollywood.
