Adrienne Bailon Wants to Start a Family in the New Year
Adrienne Bailon, co-host of The Real, talks about her wish for children in 2018.
It’s been over a year since Adrienne Bailon tied the knot in Paris to gospel singer Israel Houghton. Now, The Real cohost reveals she’s ready to start a family.
During a live segment of the talk show she hosts alongside Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, the four women spoke about their new year’s resolutions with Bailon confessing her baby-making plans.
“My wish for next year would be to start a family,” she told the audience. “That would be my biggest dream come true. I’ve always said I want to be a mom. So prayers up and we will see what happens.”
Her fellow hosts expressed their enthusiasm for her family plans, praising the former Cheetah Girl on what an “amazing” mom she’ll be.
Bailon emphasized that motherhood would not interfere with her professional goals. As she put it: “I have my sister and all these incredible mothers around me that are also pursuing their dreams and remind me that it is possible to have it all and do it all,” she said, adding: “To be a working mom… to me that would be the greatest success of my life.”
The television star, who wed Houghton in November 2016 in an intimate ceremony of approximately 70 people in the City of Lights, has the optimal conditions for raising a child — a deep and abiding love for her new husband. “I genuinely just feel so blessed and grateful. I’ve honestly never been happier in my entire life,” Bailon exclusively told PEOPLE of getting married. “I’ve never felt what I feel right now. I can’t even describe what it is, but it’s such a peace mixed with total excitement.”
