Celebrity Zsa Zsa Gabor's Doctors Fighting to Save Her Leg Doctors hope to avoid amputating the veteran glamour girl's leg below the knee By Sara Hammel and Cynthia Wang Published on January 3, 2011 04:55 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Ron Galella/Getty Zsa Zsa Gabor’s doctors have delayed plans to amputate her leg while they wait to see if antibiotics can turn things around for the ailing star. “Over the next two days, the doctors are treating her with powerful antibiotics in the hope that they will affect the lesion on her lower leg,” Gabor’s rep John Blanchette tells PEOPLE. Her health is still precarious, however, and he added that the lesion “is now very deep, and 12 inches long.” If the antibiotics don’t work, doctors “will have to amputate. She will lose the lower half of her leg below the knee.” The veteran glamour girl, 93, was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center Sunday night. Her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, is by her side.
