With his heartthrob status, Zac Efron has girls vying for his attention. Unfortunately for the ladies, he’s just not interested.

“I think a lot of guys would enjoy that,” the actor, 22, tells September’s Details about dating around Hollywood. “But I’m not really like that.”

Still, the idea has crossed his mind – but he says he’s never acted on it because of a steady five-year (and counting) relationship with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.

“Believe me, I rack my brain thinking, ‘Why am I not out there playing the field?’ … But it’s not in my heart,” says the Charlie St. Cloud star.

His relationship with Hudgens – who said they had an instant connection when they first met – is “exactly how it should be. It’s real,” he says.

And while Efron’s fan base may be predominantly female, he’s also caught the eye of someone else: Tom Cruise.

When the two recently stopped by the Creative Arts Agency office, Cruise flagged him down in the lobby and asked if he rode motorcycles. After Efron replied he didn’t, Cruise asked him, “You wanna learn how?” and then extended an invitation to his home, which included a tour of the star’s hangar that houses his collection of bikes, including the Triumphs he rode in the Mission: Impossible movies.

“I don’t even want to know [why he did that],” says Efron. “It’s just so cool that he gave a s—. The fact that he cared at all. No one else did that.”
