“NYPD Blue” and CBS lead the nominations for the first “TV Guide” awards, to be broadcast Feb. 1 on Fox. (Both the periodical and the network are owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News America Corp.) More than one million people participated in the balloting to pick the winners, the magazine reports in its Jan. 9 issue. “NYPD Blue” had four nominations, including Favorite Drama, two nominations for Favorite Actor in a Drama (Jimmy Smits and Dennis Franz) and Favorite Actress in a Drama (Kim Delaney). “The X-Files” earned three nominations: for Favorite Drama and Favorite Actor and Actress for stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. CBS led the networks with 15 nominations, followed by NBC with 14 and ABC with 11.
