With his animated movie Megamind taking in mega-millions and topping the box office for a second week in a row, what else can Will Ferrell do but welcome the dubious distinction of being named Forbes magazine’s “most overpaid” actor?

“Isn’t that the whole point?” he asks PEOPLE at the launch of 7-Eleven’s “Coffee Cup With A Cause.” “I mean, aren’t we all striving to be overpaid?”

Apparently, it’s not just about making it anymore – it’s about making it and then having someone say your overcompensated for doing so.

“Apparently I’m living the American dream without even trying,” Ferrell, 43, says with a chuckle.

Fortunately for Ferrell, if this whole acting thing doesn’t pan out, working on designing the cup that will benefit Cancer for College may have uncovered some previously untapped talents.

“It’s a combination of early Basquiat and early Rankin-Bass claymation,” he says of the rudimentary snowman sketch that graces each cup. “Yes, it looks like a child drew it, but that’s the extent of my artistic expertise.”
