There’s no denying Christina Aguilera has a whole lot going on these days: A recent move to a new home, a return to NBC’s The Voice, a producing gig on a TV series for ABC Family and a new album to record.

Oh, and at the top of her daily to do list? Caring for Summer Rain, her 6-month-old daughter with fiancé Matt Rutler, and Summer’s big brother Max, 7, her son with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.

So it’s no wonder that planning a wedding hasn’t exactly been a priority.

“Having just moved into a beautiful new home we call ‘the Sanctuary,’ having a baby, and now being so excited to get back to work (on The Voice), I have my hands full, and am not in a rush to set a date,” Aguilera tells PEOPLE in this week’s exclusive cover story.

Which is not to say she won’t be excited to tie the knot with Rutler, her beau since late 2010. “I want to plan it and cherish the moment, while not feeling rushed,” she says.

For the time being, the couple is embracing parenthood and relishing their lives together. “Our love is secure enough that we don’t need a wedding to prove our love or commitment,” Aguilera says. “We are enjoying our daughter, our family and our work for now.”
