Just because you’re part of an award-winning music group doesn’t mean you have to shell out big bucks to show dad you love him. Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum know just what their dads want, and it’s more about digging into their hearts then into their pockets.

“Tickets to a Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw show,” is what Haywood tells PEOPLE his dad would like. Slightly more sentimental is Kelley’s idea: “He always like plaques, like if we’re given an award – I know it’s free, but means a lot to him,” he says.

And when all else fails, get dad something practical. “Something to organize with,” Scott tells PEOPLE is on her list. “My dad is always talking about how he wants to de-clutter my parents house, so I’m gonna go to The Container Store and get him some containers to organize.”

Did you get dad something you know he’ll really appreciate?
