Wango Tango is upon us but, unless you live in the Los Angeles area, you may be unfamiliar with this epic music festival. Luckily, we’ve got your back and are here to explain the history of one of the biggest music events in Southern California.
Wango Tango is an annual day-long music event produced and hosted by KISS-FM, the local pop radio station in Los Angeles. This isn’t some local radio jam session – Wango Tango draws massive names and this year it will feature performances by Gwen Stefani, Ariana Grande, Zayn, Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor and Iggy Azalea, just to name a few.
The event will kick off with a performance from Lovato at 3 p.m. local time and will take place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. It will be hosted by none other than Ryan Seacrest.
Wango Tango has always drawn big acts to headline the festival. First started in 1998, the original lineup included the Spice Girls, Mariah Carey, Will Smith and *NSYNC. Stefani – who hails from Orange County, California – is no stranger to the festival, having first performed alongside No Doubt in 2002 and then again as a solo act in 2005, when she headlined the festival.
