Also, “American Beauty” director Sam Mendes, 37, married “Titanic” star Kate Winslet, 27, “in late May in a very small ceremony whilst on holiday in the West Indies,” said their publicist. “Present were Kate Winslet’s (2-1/2-year-old) daughter, Mia, and three close friends.” MARTHA MESS: ImClone Systems founder Sam Waksal, 55 — whose insider-trading scandal also ensnared his friend Martha Stewart — was sentenced this week to seven years and three months in prison and ordered to pay nearly $4.3 million in fines and back taxes, the Associated Press reported. The stiff sentence is being seen as a bad omen for Stewart, 61, who last week was indicted on charges stemming from her December 2001 sale of ImClone shares, one day before the FDA declined to approve of one of the biotech company’s new cancer drugs. The film then received an early critical drubbing by the Ain’t It Cool News movie gossip site, but the studio, insisting the finished film is terrific, is looking into the piracy issue.
