The Purple One takes center stage at Sunday’s Super Bowl festivities, while Kevin Federline’s commercial makes its halftime bow. PEOPLE takes a look at the big event, plus others to watch for in the coming week:
SUNDAY, FEB. 4: It’s Super Bowl Sunday – an entertainment-packed day that offers heaps more than just football (in case you don’t know, the Chicago Bears are playing the Indianapolis Colts in the big game). Billy Joel sings the national anthem while Prince shakes his booty at the halftime show. And, of course, watch for Kevin Federline‘s controversial Nationwide Insurance ad. All the gridiron giddiness airs live from Miami at 6:25 p.m. ET on CBS. But the party is going on all weekend in Miami: Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony will perform together at an Ocean Drive magazine party, while Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo, Jamie Foxx, Kanye West and Mark Wahlberg will be living it up at bashes thrown all over town.
MONDAY, FEB. 5: Okay, so you weren’t on the guest list for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes‘s elaborate Italian nuptials or Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott‘s private ceremony in Fiji. But now you can get all the intimate details in the InStyle: Celebrity Weddings TV special (ABC, 10 p.m. ET). Highlights include designer Giorgio Armani talking about TomKat’s lavish day and a peek at Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross‘s wedding to stockbroker Tom Mahoney.
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 7: When we last left the castaways on Lost, Jack (Matthew Fox) was performing surgery on creepy cult leader Ben (Michael Emerson), and Kate (Evangeline Lilly) and Sawyer (Josh Holloway) were attempting to escape. What happens next in the ever-labyrinthine show is anybody’s guess. But after a three-month hiatus, the show is back with 16 new episodes to bend your mind (ABC, 10 p.m. ET).
THURSDAY, FEB. 8: It’s time for yet another Survivor! The last installment’s gimmick – dividing contestants along racial lines – sparked major debate. What’s the rub in Survivor: Fiji? In the first episode, all the contestants will pitch in to build a swanky shelter (complete with food and a sofa) but will then be divided up. The winning team gets to keep the luxury abode while the losers will be sent packing with only the clothes on their backs. And there was plenty of behind-the-scenes drama while filming: There was a governmental shake-up on the island when a military coup occurred and several crew members had to be relocated. Yikes! (CBS, 8 p.m. ET)
