Plus: Katharine McPhee releases her singles, Beyonce goes to the BET Awards and more

Kelly Clarkson kicks off her Addicted tour in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Friday. PEOPLE looks at the American Idol‘s road trip plus other events to watch for in the coming week:

TUESDAY, JUNE 27: American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee releases her first two singles – a remake of “Over the Rainbow” and an original song, “My Destiny.” The singer – who admits to PEOPLE in its latest issue that she successfully battled bulimia – is also hitting the road with the Taylor Hicks and the rest of the Idol gang on their U.S. tour, kicking off July 5.

Beyonce, Jamie Foxx and Prince hit the stage at The BET Awards, broadcast live from Los Angeles on the cable network (8 p.m. ET). Among the honors being handed out: best female R&B artist (Beyonce goes voice-to-voice with Mary J. Blige and Mariah Carey) and best video (Kanye West and Foxx are vying to take home the trophy for “Golddigger”). Funny guy Damon Wayans hosts the all-star event.

FRIDAY, JUNE 30: Kelly Clarkson kicks off her Addicted tour in West Palm Beach, Fla. The singer says to expect “huge surprises” from her 25-date summer road trip. “People are going to be floored,” she tells the Associated Press. “It’s a more musical show, like I always do, but the things we’re bringing in, like all the video stuff and different things, are major ones.”
