WEEK AHEAD: Jessica Reveals Her 'Affair'

Plus: Lance Armstrong hosts the ESPYs, Daniel Powter hits the road and more

Jessica Simpson hits MTV with the video for “A Public Affair” on Wednesday. PEOPLE takes a look at the pop diva’s clip plus other events to watch for in the coming week:

SUNDAY, JULY 16: Lance Armstrong is the first athlete to take center stage as the host of the ESPY Awards, airing live on ESPN (9 p.m. ET). “People like Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson have done it – pros – so it’s tough company to follow. Let’s just hope I don’t butcher it,” the cyclist tells PEOPLE. He’ll get some help from some famous friends: pal Jake Gyllenhaal will be a presenter.

MONDAY, JULY 17: Daniel Powter, whose “Bad Day” became one of American Idol‘s anthems, is hitting the road for his first U.S. tour. The nationwide jaunt kicks off at Philadelphia’s Theatre of Living Arts.

TUESDAY, JULY 18: Another crop of singing wannabes will compete for a major recording contract in The One: Making a Music Star. The premise: 11 contestants attend an L.A. music academy where they’ll train with professionals while cameras follow them around 24-7 as they bicker, find love and try to sing their way to stardom. Think of it as American Idol meets The Real World (ABC at 9 p.m. ET).

WEDNESDAY, JULY 19: The video for Jessica Simpson‘s first single “A Public Affair” hits the airwaves. The pop diva, who filmed part of the video at a Los Angeles roller rink, enlisted a cadre of her celeb gal pals – including Eva Longoria, Christina Milian and Christina Applegate – to costar in the 1980s-themed clip.
