On the spectrum of strange things that people collect, lunch boxes don’t really seem that bizarre.
For one, they’re a fairly accurate record of pop culture – you can peruse Thermos’s record of its lunch kits like fossils in the Earth’s strata to see what was popular in the zeitgeist in any given year. For another, they play on nostalgia for both the pop culture of our youth and youth itself. For a third, they’re awesome.

Question: Why does Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-san’s young female companion have purple hair? And is it just us, or does Mr. Miyagi resemble Hulk Hogan here? That seems … odd.
Here’s another question: Is it weird to market a lunch box for children that backgrounds the Brady Bunch kids and places their parents front and center in a romantic light?
It’s not the plastic lunch receptacle your children need, it’s the one they deserve.
