Harrison Odjegba Okene may be the luckiest man of 2013. The boat cook survived for 60 hours at the ocean’s bottom after his tugboat capsized in the Atlantic Ocean, according to TIME.

Shocking video released this week shows divers rescuing Okene three days after the July boat accident off Nigeria’s coast that claimed the lives of 11 of his crew members. The cook managed to survive by finding an air pocket inside the sunken ship.

Shouts of “he’s alive!” can be heard in the clip as rescue divers follow Okene’s outstretched hand to find the man tucked inside the boat. The divers responded quickly to the miraculous discovery, providing Okene with water and oxygen. Most importantly, Okene’s rescuers were able to give him what he had spent the past three days praying for: a trip to the surface.
