Cameron Diaz says that seeing her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, who co-stars with her in the upcoming Shrek the Third, is “nothing big.”

When asked on Wednesday’s Today show about the attention paid to the hug and kiss she exchanged with her ex on the red carpet at last Sunday’s L.A. premiere of their movie, she said: “We’re friends, so it’s okay. It’s not something you really worry about.”

The premiere of this new Shrek, to which Diaz and Timberlake both contribute voices, marked the former couple’s first major public appearance together since breaking up in January

As Diaz went on to tell Today host Meredith Vieira: “I think what you want is for the person that you care about to be happy. And … I think we both are, so it’s easy for us to see each other.”

She added, “And it’s easy for us to greet each other, even under the microscope of the world. It’s not really that difficult… There’s just nothing big about it. It’s not a big deal.”

Timberlake also recently said that the pair have no hard feelings toward each other. When asked about the split, the singer, 26, told British GQ that Diaz is “a person I love and respect.”

He added: “If I hear anyone say anything bad about Cameron then I’ll have something to say to them.”
