Troubled former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson, 32, was sentenced to a year in jail Friday for assaulting two men after a minor traffic accident in Maryland last Aug. 31. The jail term could kill off Tyson’s career — and, because the incident could mark a violation of his parole agreement, land him back in prison in Indiana to finish his sentence for a 1992 rape conviction. Tyson, who had pleaded no contest to the Maryland incident, was led away in handcuffs (two pair were required to place his hands behind his back). It has been reported that the fighter’s lawyers are mulling over an appeal, though on what grounds is not clear. Tyson’s wife Monica is said to be devastated by the judge’s sentence.
